Charred Char keow Teow

Updated: Apr 1, 2021

Welcome back everyone! Today I will be sharing about one of the Singapore's most loved dish, Char Keow Teow! It is a deep-fried noodle with the right balance of sweet and sour with delicious prawns and scrambled egg.

Today i tried it at another local hawker centre. Despite the long snake -like queue at the cashier the wafting aroma of the Char keow teow lured me constantly to wait. The blend of flavours and spices excited my tastebuds and hit all the right notes. The soya and fish sauces were well blended. Every delectable bite was washed down with a sip of well-brewed lemon juice. The koo chye tasted like food from the paradise. The succulent prawn enticed my appetites. Unlike various hawker centers the noodles given by this stall was very well cooked and soft. Overall, the noodles had various flavors in one and looked mouth-watering as the meat was tender.

Traditional dishes often taste different in different countries. This is because some ingredients needed to make them may not be available, so the taste and flavor can be different from the taste and flavor of the dishes that they would prepare in their home countries. Hence, the taste is unique. same goes for our unique char keow teow it resembles our Singaporean culture as it is made by our local Singaporeans. Hence, it should be preserved. Try it now and you will not regret it.
